1. Who we are
ABLEV LLC operates Honey Bear and honeybear.love. See our support and contact information for the current launch status and available guidance.
This policy describes the website and the information used by Honey Bear’s connected features. App features and sign-in choices depend on the version and options available to you; a description here is not an offer that every feature is available.
2. Information used by Honey Bear
Account and profile: account and authentication-provider identifiers, email or provider identity information, authentication tokens, display name, bear customization, birthdate, pairing identifiers and relationship settings support sign-in, age eligibility and your profile. Apple and Google are the primary sign-in choices planned for launch. Email-and-password signup and sign-in are planned as a secondary option under “More sign-in options”; release availability has not yet been verified. Use only the choices enabled in your installed version. Apple or Google supplies the identity, email and authentication information for its selected sign-in flow; Apple may supply a private relay address. If email-and-password access is available, Supabase authentication processes the email address and password you provide for account creation and sign-in.
Content and activity: messages, voice recordings, photos, videos, reactions, delivery/read status, saved moments, question answers, moods, games, plans and timestamps are processed for the features you use. Private conversations can contain sensitive information about your relationship or intimate life.
Birthdate and sign: birthdate supports eligibility checks. An optional sign can be suggested from birthdate, edited, skipped or cleared. Saving a sign shares the selected sign with your partner; that control does not publish your full birthdate.
Optional location and battery: enabled sharing can use location coordinates, accuracy and sampling time for partner distance/direction, and battery level, charging state and time. Coordinates rounded to three decimal places still convey location and can reveal a home or routine. Compass heading orients the display. Background sharing depends on permissions and availability.
Notifications and widgets: push tokens, installation identifiers, settings, preview keys and account/relationship identifiers support delivery. Previews can show message text, a name or bear; widgets can show selected relationship information. People who can see your device may see this information.
Purchases and service operation: when Apple purchases are available, transaction/product identifiers, account association and entitlement status support verification and restoration. Apple’s payment interface handles the payment information you provide to Apple. Requests, delivery/error status and other technical records help operate the service. Hosting services process network information such as IP addresses when handling requests.
3. Why information is used
Information supports authentication, age and pairing boundaries, delivery and synchronization, the shared features you choose, optional device features, purchase verification, and service operation and security. Support requests include the information you send and any information needed to verify the account or request.
Permissions are choices about specific features. Camera, microphone, photos, location and notification access are managed through the app’s available controls and iOS Settings. Using Honey Bear does not mean you have agreed to every optional form of sharing.
4. Sharing and service access
Content you send or choose to share is intended for your connected partner, subject to the feature’s controls. Your partner may make independent copies. Pairing is an access boundary in the service, not a guarantee that only the two of you can technically access cloud content.
Supabase provides authentication and database services. Cloudflare Workers process connected-service requests, and Cloudflare R2 stores uploaded media. Apple supports applicable sign-in, push and purchase functions; Google participates if you choose an available Google sign-in option. Hostinger hosts this website. Those services have their own applicable notices and terms.
Honey Bear and authorized infrastructure operators can technically access server-held content. Valid legal requirements can also require disclosure. Honey Bear is not end-to-end encrypted.
5. Storage, retention and deletion
Data can be held in cloud authentication, databases and media storage, as well as device preferences, caches, queues and widget snapshots. The app’s local vault protects its files using keys held in the device Keychain; not all device data is in that vault. Provider storage protection and encrypted transport do not prevent every form of access or guarantee perfect security.
Account data and connected content are used to operate your account and the features you request. Request deletion when you want to close the account and remove its associated data. Our deletion policy is to remove the deleting person’s own messages and photos from partner-visible chat and scrapbook while preserving the partner’s account and partner-authored content.
A submitted or queued request is not confirmation that erasure has completed. Active service data, queued operations, technical records and provider backups can require separate handling. We do not promise immediate erasure or a fixed completion time here. Use the status or confirmation provided by an available in-app request flow; the website does not confirm that cleanup has completed. Any legally required retention is subject to applicable law.
Independent downloads, screenshots and copies saved by a recipient cannot reliably be erased remotely. Deleting the app does not delete a cloud account, and account deletion does not cancel Apple billing. See Account deletion.
6. Your choices and requests
Choose what you share. Use available controls to pause optional sharing, clear a sign, change permissions, hide notification previews or remove widgets. Stopping future sharing does not retract information already received or copied.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, or complain to a privacy regulator. See our support and contact information. We may need to verify that you control the account before acting on a request. Do not send passwords, sign-in codes or complete private conversations.
7. Age and sensitive content
Honey Bear is intended for people aged 16 and older, subject to applicable local requirements. Adult-only packs require both partners to be at least 18 and to opt in. Birthdate and preference checks are not a verified identity service. Do not use the service to share sexual content involving minors or nonconsensual intimate content.
8. Website and policy updates
The Honey Bear page files contain no analytics script, advertising pixel, signup form or browser-storage code. This statement is about these website files, not a general claim about every app or hosting practice. Following an external link takes you to that provider.
Hostinger handles delivery of this website and may present security or browser checks. Its infrastructure processing is separate from the page files. Read Hostinger’s privacy information. Internet services may process information outside your country.
This page may be updated when the service or its data handling changes. Check the current policy and available in-app notices before using a new feature.
